Village of Daughters

Great caricature of Eric Sykes by Ronald Searle on this British Quad film poster for "Village of Daughters" from 1962. Ronald Searle film posters are rare to find and this is a lovely example from 1961 for a film that you would never believe was actually made in black and white. Great floral artwork with Searle's amazing style and the sixties flowers even extend to the title. John Le Mesurier is in support as the local priest who has to choose the right candidates for a Sicilian village that sends a letter to London requesting a partner as they are short of eligible candidates.
