Titanic

Rare surviving 1953 British quad film poster picturing a star-studded cast telling the story of the tragic 1912 luxury liner disaster "Titanic". Barbara Stanwyck and Clifton Webb are pictured as the married couple with Robert Wagner romancing the daughter of the couple. Brian Aherne plays Captain E. J. Smith. The painted artwork portrays the ship in peril with the survivors in two of the life boats with failed attempts pictured to launch further lifeboats and passengers at the stern leaping to their doom from the deck. The film was of course made in black and white in 1953 but cinema goers would be more than happy to see the dramatic full colour film poster. A very difficult to find poster. This one has paper lift as seen at the bottom and left side but actually this white paper lift does not look too out of place because of the painted sea foam and the nature of the film. Printed by the Haycock Press of London S.E.5. This one is a really rare find with no pinholes just a 3 inch closed tear by the name 'Webb' at the lower left which we have repaired with restoration tape to the reverse.
