They Live in Fear

Beautiful early example of stone litho printing quality. This 1944 quad was printed in England by Stafford & Co. of Netherfield, Nottingham and London and has the benefit of a portion of a much earlier litho colour poster on the back. War time paper shortage led inadvertently to the saving of at least parts of older posters which in all probability would not have survived otherwise. This British quad has fine deep colours and presents an anti-German storyline as a German Professor flees to America. This is an extremely early poster with stone litho printing during the Second World War and represented strong American links in Britain at the time. The stone litho printed poster on the reverse is from an earlier film and features a part of a larger poster with a cavalry theme. A great piece of cinema history.
