The Three Musketeers

Gorgeous stone-litho printed first release British quad from 1948 for "The Three Musketeers". Lana Turner is painted as the beautiful Countess Charlotte de Winter with the handsome Gene Kelly as D'Artagnan. Painted on the right hand side of the quad are "The Three Musketeers" with a tribute to the athletic fencing scenes as Gene Kelly is painted with sword in hand. The colours on this old film poster are mixed superbly and give a mesmeric quality purely of that age. Gracing this film poster is an exceptional Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer lion logo with the printers name in pale blue "Stafford & Co. Ltd., Netherfield Nottingham." together with the pale blue threepenny bit "U" certificate. A rare treat and a stunning piece of film history for a film which was in glorious Technicolor directed by George Sidney.
