You could always rely on Tom Chantrell for a good likeness with the actors he was painting and his depiction of Ryan O'Neal as the jewel thief is a good example. The attention to detail includes a stethoscope, a good study in concentration and a cleverly faceted diamond including the safe cracker in action together with the artists printed signature. The poster is completed with fine photographs including his lover Jacqueline Bisset and the insurance investigator Warren Oates - the background is a chess board with a chess piece included in the title. On the reverse of the poster is a cinema address and a franked stamp to indicate that this poster has been posted folded to the cinema in Dublin. The poster has pinholes and some small squares of reinforcement tape to the reverse particularly at the corners where there is paper-loss at the tips. A great piece of cinema history.
