The Mercenaries

This 1968 first release Metro Goldwyn Mayer British quad film poster has excellent colours with no fading for "The Mercenaries". Frank McCarthy the artist is responsible for this all-action artwork complete with very specific detail on all the guns, equipment and vehicles painted plus very accurate portraits of Rod Taylor, Yvette Mimieux and Jim Brown. McCarthy was well known at this time for his work on the James Bond film posters including "You Only Live Twice" and "On Her Majesty's Secret Service". This folded film poster was printed in England by W. E. Berry Ltd. of Bradford the poster has a large closed tear as seen at the top left plus historic water damage at the bottom centre with splits along the fold lines in places as seen and multiple pinholes in the corners. The colours are really bright an the poster displays really well despite these faults. Great finely detailed artwork.
