The Longest Day

This first release British Quad film poster for 'The Longest Day' does not feature the name 'Gert Frobe' in the credits as the later version does. The cast is listed alphabetically and on later releases of the film poster his name appears after Steve Forrest. This landscape artwork really suits the format of the British Quad film poster and the artist Tom Chantrell chooses a viewpoint from the German pill-box to give us a sense of proportion and help us understand the scale of the task in hand during the Second World War. Printed by Stafford & Co in England there is a small paper infill at the edge of the left border less than half an inch wide by nearly two inches which is hardly noticeable.
