The Haunted and the Hunted / The Crawling Hand

Classy 1963 Regal Films International double-bill British quad film poster complete with their logo at the bottom right. This superb 'X' certificate horror film poster is for "The Haunted and the Hunted" which was directed by Francis Ford Coppola at the tender age of 24. He persuaded Patrick MaGee and William Campbell to star even convincing Ireland's Abbey Players to appear for low wages and he utilised the Roger Corman production sets. The film poster has great artwork picturing the Irish castle complete with owl and bat whilst "The Crawling Hand" pictures the dismembered hand of an alien possessed astronaut who happens to land on a beach in California to be found by a local student who exploits its powers. Both of the film were of course made in back and white but as was common for the day cinema goers expected a full colour cinema poster and they weren't to be disappointed. This film poster was purchased from the owner of the Cinephone Cinema on Bristol Street, Birmingham and unbelievably still has the stamp for the cinema on the reverse.
