The Enemy Below / Broken Lance

Director Dick Powell offers us one of the finest Second World War German U-boat films as the artwork here depicts the submarine being stalked and attacked by the US Destroyer. The respective skippers Robert Mitchum and Curt Jurgens do not meet until near the end of the film "The Enemy Below" which builds the suspense and the film won an Oscar for special effects having been based on a real story. This great 'U' certificate CinemaScope double-bill also pictures action from Broken Lance". This earlier film from 1954 pictures Spencer Tracy in the starring role in a classy Western which was one of the first CinemaScope pictures to be made.
