The Double Man

Captivating Tom Chantrell artwork from 1967 portraying the beautiful Britt Ekland in the role of Gina and Yul Brynner painted twice as he plays two characters - an American and a German. The director is Franklin J. Schaffler who directed both "Patton" and "Planet of the Apes". Printed in England by R. J. Wallman Ltd London E. 9. This first release British quad film poster has really dramatic colours with a great water colour wash background and the printed signature of the artist Chantrell prominent under the main portrait of Yul Brynner. The film poster has a blue Dublin stamp to the reverse which does not show through and a water stain near to it at the left centre fold line which can be very faintly seen on Britt Ekland's shoulder and on the white fold line by the 'Y' of the name 'Brynner'. There are two small square areas of restoration tape at the left and right centre folds where there is a small fold wear hole and a little fold wear at the left edge line. Pinholes at the borders but having said all that this one displays really well.
