This is the 1971 first release original film poster for Ken Russell's film "The Devils". The director adapted Aldous Huxley's "The Devils of Loudun" creating this frenzied and surreal hallucinogenic historical horror film which caused much controversy with Oliver Reed giving a controversial performance as the 17th century French priest and Vanessa Redgrave as the humpbacked nun. Printed in England by Lonsdale and Bartholomew portraying the Warner Bros. shield and A Kinney Leisure service. Clever Chantrell artwork reminiscent of "The Witchfinder General". "Best Foreign Film Venice Film Festival 1971" is printed and part of the design of the film poster. The film poster is in folded condition with great colours and is clean with good paper quality. Three pinholes in the bottom right corner, four in the top left corner with one at the top right and bottom left and a pinhole sized one at the left middle fold line join. Pen writing on the reverse as seen which does not show through to the front.
