The Conqueror

This is the 1956 first release British quad film poster for the John Wayne film "The Conqueror". Directed by Dick Powell we have John Wayne cast as Genghis Khan and painted here in glorious colour for this RKO Radio Pictures early CinemaScope film. Susan Hayward is painted too together with the sweeping hoards of horsemen. Printed by Stafford & Co of Netherfield Nottingham and London this early film poster is a difficult one to find. This example has extremely bright colours with some restoration tape at the top centre fold line and at the centre and lower left cross folds together with three small areas at the bottom edge fold lines.
