The Big Sleep

Raymond Chandler's novel introduces us to the private eye Phillip Marlow... played here by Robert Mitchum. American artist Richard Amsel paints the private detective complete with smoking gun protecting Sarah Miles. The artists printed signature appears below the gun. This film poster was brought back from a cinema owner in Malta by us many years ago and bears the Maltese KRS Film Distributors sticker at the top right. The poster was printed in England by Lonsdale & Bartholomew of Nottingham and has marks and pinholes together with small areas where we have applied conservation tape at the reverse.
