Sword of Sherwood Forest

This 1960 Hammer film poster featuring direction by Terence Fisher and starring his trusty villain Peter Cushing as the sheriff of Nottingham captures a period when robin hood reigned supreme on ITV television. The magnificent artwork on this film poster is by Jean Mascii and the bold colours pay tribute to a film which was shot in Technicolor. On the reverse of the poster is the remains of a stamp and the address of "Monsieur le directeur Cinema" there is also a chalk written advert for SOS Pacific too which doesn't show through to the front except for a small area in the pale yellow above the title.
