Cornel Wilde, Patricia Knight, written by Samuel Fuller, Dir: Douglas Sirk, old telephone
This is the 1949 Film Noir British quad film poster for "Shockproof". Patricia Knight is the ex-convict languishing as the central figure in this Columbia Pictures Film Noir with Cornel Wilde painted cigarette in mouth and phone in hand as the parole officer attempting to untangle the web of deceit. The film was of course shot in black and white but this full colour film poster would have been very acceptable to cinema goers who would be enticed to cinemas to see this Columbia Pictures American film. The poster sports the old fashioned Columbia Pictures lady with the lamp logo and the old 'A' certificate threepenny bit British Board of Film Censors logo. Printed by Stafford & Co. of Netherfield, Nottingham & London the film poster has paper loss at the top left corner and bottom left border - luckily none of the artwork is affected. Small hole as seen at the right centre cross fold and the lower right centre cross fold. These have been historically repaired with a small section of see-through conservation tape.
