Ryan's Daughter

The painting tells a story of difficult love using the wild setting of the Dingle Peninsula photographed by Freddie Young to Oscar winning effect. The reference to Dr. Zhivago reinforces the name of the Director David Lean and the theme of the romantic epic. Marvelous deep brave colours with superb shore, sand, sea and sky line. This British quad is printed right to the edges of the borders and is not an easy one to find. Four small snipe marks at the top which are hardly noticeable and blend in extremely well, the "Panavision" notice at the foot of the poster has been neatly felted out. There are a few brown spots at the top left of the poster.
