Quatermass and the Pit / Circus of Fear

Original British Hammer quad for the film 'Quatermass and the Pit' from 1967 with great Science fiction artwork by Tom Chantrell. This film poster also advertises the ABC cinema double-bill presentation of 'Circus of Fear' starring Christopher Lee. The film poster was printed in England by Lonsdale & Bartholomew of Nottingham and also features the Rex Publicity Ltd print on the bottom left the company responsible for marketing for the ABC cinema chain. The colours on this film poster are exceptional as is the attention to detail. The Martian space ship is pictured having been uncovered in a London tube station and director Roy Ward Baker employs great use of intrigue for the film. This film poster has a few closed tears as seen mainly at the top left and the history of the film poster has involved a film poster from 1968 for the film "Shalako" being applied to the reverse of the "Quatermass and the Pit" film poster. This Hammer film poster is a very difficult one to find.
