This "X" certificate UK quad from 1960 pictures Peter Finch as Johnnie Byrne the MP who is over looked for the cabinet post he was expecting. His Communist wife leaves him - hence the title and he has an affair with a fashion model (painted Mary Peach as Pauline West). The novel is written by a Labour MP and artist Renato Fratini does well to frame with the houses of Parliament and use the same colours to etch the political significance through to the portraits of the stars as the Profumo affair meant sex and politics would be inextricably linked. Printed in England by Charles & Read Ltd. of London & Harlow.
The folded condition film poster has pinholes in the corners with a 1/2 inch closed 'V' tear at the top left border which we have repaired with archival tape to the reverse plus two tiny areas of square conservation tape to the reverse of the right cross folds.
