The Long Ships

Belgian 70 m/m film poster for the 1963 lavish screen epic "the Long Ships" featuring dramatic key scenes with varied colour wash and extremely inventive titling in the shape of the long ship! Richard Widmark stars in the role of the Viking "Rolfe" while Sidney Poitier plays the Moorish Prince. The Viking long ships take centre stage with Richard Widmark's portrait appearing at the left of the film poster and the bell. The poster has a lovely old Columbia Films logo at the bottom right and was printed by Maurice Panneels - 26 rue Martin pfieffer, Bruxelles. Charming address and postmark stamps on reverse of this poster indicating that it was sent through the post. Very bright colours with a nfew nicks at the bottom border and a closed tear at the central vertical fold line extending into the wording "The Long Ships."
