Magnificent rolled condition British quad film poster for "Lawrence of Arabia". Peter O'Toole is painted in the role of one of Britain's charismatic heroes: T.E. Lawrence astride his camel brandishing sword in hand. Military historians still do not fully understand the nature of the Arab revolt against the Turks during the First World War with the artwork here magnificent in detail for a film which David Lean took 15 months filming in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, England and Spain. Howard Terpning's artwork and the Technicolor scope of the film lends itself best to artwork on a landscape format. The brightest of colours on this wonderful historic film poster and the first that we have seen. Printed in England by the Haycock Press Ltd. London.
This rolled condition film poster has three tiny pieces of conservation tape that we have attached to the rear over staple holes in the corners and there is a slightly worn colour area to the reverse where the poster had historically been kept rolled at the edge as seen.
