"It Came from Outer Space" was filmed in 1953 in black and white and was based on the short story "The Meteor" by Ray Bradbury. This film poster advertises the "3-Dimension Excitement" for a classic and brilliant Science-Fiction film and most likely was supplied to an American University in the early 1970's. An alien spaceship lands in the Arizona desire and the giant eye on the poster represents the giant eyed occupants who adopt human identities while they repair their vessel. Richard Carlson plays the Astronomer who sees it all happen - but no-one believes him. This piece of cinema history was for the showing of the film for "Campus use only" for the distribution by Universal Pictures of their popular film. The venue details have not been filled in so we assume this is an unused film poster. The film poster has a little creasing at the bottom as seen and a few small closed tears at the top border which we have repaired with archival tape to reverse.
