"The Isle of Wight Festival" in 1970 was one of the largest music events in history drawing of 700000 attendees to Afton Down. Britian's answer to Woodstock The Who provided one of the best sets just before the release of 'Live at Leeds'. Jimi Hendrix played his final planned UK public performance just three weeks before his death. Great performances also given by The Doors, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Miles Davis, Mungo Jerry, James Taylor, The Moody Blues, Pentangle and Jethro Tull to name just a few.
