Burt Reynolds is pictured as the weary worldly wise detective, gun in hand and supported by the call girl Catherine Deneuve. Robert Aldrich is the classy director responsible for the 1955 classic "Kiss Me Deadly" and this one is a great film with the same style of corruption and seedy low life that detectives encounter on a day to day basis.
