Hey, Rookie

This American half sheet film poster dates from the Second World War year of 1943 for the Columbia Pictures film "Hey, Rookie". The rare surviving half sheet from the Second World War features the old Columbia Pictures logo. The film poster features interesting cartoon artwork picturing musicians in a travelling army show during Word War II that was based on one written and produced by Soldiers stationed at Fort MacArthur. The central figure is Ann Miller who starred in many musical performances. 

We purchased this folded film poster on a trip to Ireland and the Irish censors have used white poster paint as seen on the central figure. This sometimes happened in Ireland at the whim of the local cinema owner. With just one pinhole in Anne's foot.
