Grip of the Strangler

These 1958 first release British cinema front of house lobby cards are for the black and white mystery horror film "Grip of the Strangler" starring Boris Karloff as James Rankin. Boris Karloff is pictured in the cards in a Jekyll and Hyde type performance where he is a writer studying the twenty year old murders of the Haymarket strangler. He becomes obsessed (because he was the strangler himself) and these cards reveal an acting performance before the advent of prosthetics as Karloff changes his personality and appearance by shutting one of his eyes and biting his lower lip to become the mad man. A great set of early English horror lobby cards.
