HB Halicki wrote, directed and starred in this movie - and provided the vehicles (93 of which were demolished) Tragically he lost his life performing a stunt for the 1989 sequel. This is a cult movie telling the story of a ring of professional car thieves and contains real action car chases and crashes which would not be allowed nowadays.
