E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

This original artwork is by John Alvin. It was decided not to reveal the E.T. character in the marketing of the movie so John Alvin reflected on E.T.'s ability "to reach out and touch someone." The resulting artwork is similar to the famous creation scene on the ceiling of the Cistine Chapel. One of the highest grossing films of its time surpassing "Star Wars" and only beaten by "Jurassic Park" ten years later.
