Film Noir British film poster from the year 1957 with Barbara Stanwyck pictured as the wife of an upright cop played by Sterling Hayden. To further her husbands career she is ruthlessly ambitious and sleeps with police chief Raymond Burr who is about the retire. A great film noir with Raymond Burr later to play the wheelchair detective in the tv series "Ironside". Film poster collectors will be interested to know the printers were 'Display Productions Ltd. in association with Electric (Modern) printing co. ltd.' The film poster has historic water damage in several areas to the reverse but it really only shows through at the cream border areas as seen and centrally around the nose area. Five areas of approx. 2 inch conservation tape strips to the reverse with many enlarged pinholes around the borders and a few at the edges of the plain lilac colour near the edges.
