A very early painted film poster from the artist Angelo Cesselon the Italian painter born in Venice in 1922 and studying under Ercole Brini. Cesselon worked for Favalli winning prizes for his artwork later to abandon film posters in 1969 devoting himself to religious painting. The artwork here is magnificent with his impression of an Aston Martin DB3S in a superb racing scene painted for Rank films and printed in England by Charles & Read of London & Harlow. The colours on the film poster are truly magnificent and this is one of the finest racing film posters produced. The poster has an enlarged pinhole in each corner with two more smaller ones in the top white border and three small brown stains where the drawing pins were.
