Call Me Bwana

Highly unusual comical artwork from Italian artist Renato Fratini for the 1963 film poster "Call Me Bwana". Bob Hope is pictured as the African explorer together with Anita Ekberg whose search for an American space capsule lost in deepest, darkest Africa. The colours are just amazing and we have happy friendly paintings of the African animals including the lion, giraffe, monkey and leopard. Printed in England by Charles & Read of London. The reverse of the poster is most unusual and actually features all the details of the RCA publicity services for the film including spot the difference pictures, alternative double-column advert blocks, pictures of tie-up stills, blow-ups of the stars from the films, fashion stills prices for publicity materials and many hilarious suggestions for cinema owners to promote the film. This is the first time we have seen this format of combination of quad with publicity printed on the reverse. The film poster does have some blue pen additions and writing to the reverse from the cinema owner. A real piece of cinema history.
