1968

Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn, Motor: Ford Mustang, Jacqueline Bisset

Tom Chantrell

Great artwork from the celebrated British artist Tom William Chantrell who was chosen the year before by Warner Brothers to paint their "Bonnie and Clyde" British Quad and later in 1977 by 20th Century Fox to paint the iconic "Star Wars". This artwork dating from 1968 for the film "Bullitt" has an incredible swirling motion effect around the fantastic image of Steve McQueen as he studies the target with his handgun poised. Here he plays the maverick cop assigned with the protection of a key government witness against a crime syndicate. The movie is undoubtedly Steve McQueen's film so here he is pictured three times in this wonderful artwork for what is the first release British quad film poster from 1968. The colours on the film poster are simply amazing and the poster even features the printed signature of the artist to the left of the hand gun. The title typography is classy and to the point while the layout of the support stars Robert Vaughn and Jacqueline Bisset completes the theme. Sheer class and in rolled condition with just the smallest pinhole in each corner and a few crease marks as must be expected for a film poster dating from 1968.
