This interesting film poster features an advertisement for the Panther paperback book for the film 'Battle of the Bulge' as being available for sale for the princely sum of 3 shillings and sixpence in 1965. Cinema managers were always encouraged to promote films in the shops surrounding them and on the high street there was space at the bottom of the poster for the cinema venue to be added or overprinted (which remains unused on this poster.) The Germans launched their last offensive in 1944 when thousands of tanks smashed their way through the snowy pine forests of the Ardennes. Eleven fantastic photos of the stars appear at the foot of the poster with Henry Fonda being the only man to forecast the German tactic months before it happened and Robert Shaw the German colonel possessing military genius in a surprise German offensive. Directed by Ken Annakin this is a brilliant Warner / Pathe film poster telling an important story of the second world war. Old tape marks in the top and bottom corners of the film poster which has a vertical centre fold line. "A Cinerama Production" is felted out in the credits on the poster with no pinholes.
