Wonderful scene painted in 1949 and in full colour for a picture filmed in black & white and fit to grace any wall today. This fine old British quad film poster features the beautiful Paulette Goddard in a down trodden street scene complete with shady hotel, overflowing trash cans and a run down 'Bar & Billiards' club. The billboard by the lamppost tells us that this was based on a successful stage production and this was about a girl whose shady past as a sailors whore catches up with her and almost destroys her chance at a fresh start. The producer is Philip Yordan from his own play which was originally staged with an all black cast filmed here as an all-white drama by Columbia Pictures. Printed by Stafford & Co. Ltd of Netherfield, Nottingham and London this fine litho printed film poster has no pinholes.
