This surviving film poster from 1951 is for the Columbia Pictures biographical western "Al Jennings of Oklahoma". Dan Duryea is pictured in the starring role portraying the real life Al Jennings born in Virginia in 1863 and becoming a lawyer. Following the killing of one of his brothers he turned to crime and was imprisoned. He later made his way to Hollywood becoming an actor and film maker. This historic western film poster has some fantastic finely detailed sketches portraying bandits attacking the steam train, the stagecoaches, gunfights in the town, fistfights and bank hold ups. Not many British quad film posters survived from 1951 . This one has a matchstick head size hole in three of the cross-folds at the left and pinholes in the corners and a few at the bottom of the poster. Al Jennings has been written in felt on the reverse and bleeds through faintly as seen by the name on the title. A magnificent stone litho printed Western film poster.
