Incredible picture of David Bradley as Billy Casper with "Kes" the baby kestrel who is the centre of his life providing friendship and solace from his difficult life at school and with his family at home. The 15 year old proudly shows his English teacher Mr Farthing played by Colin Welland the Kestrel that he is training having rescued him from a nest. The teacher is one of the very few figures showing empathy to Billy Casper and this is an important scene in the film. Billy Casper is due to become an Easter leaver at school and with no qualifications so his Brother Jud expects him to follow him down the mine but Billy has other ideas. Adapted from the novel "A Kestrel for a Knave" by Barry Hines the director Ken Loach produces arguably his best ever film "Kes" in 1969. This first release front of house cinema lobby card is sold as supplied to the cinema in 1969 and without pinholes.
