The French Connection

This is the original British quad film poster from the year 1971 for the classic crime film "The French Connection" which is based on a real life drugs bust by the New York narcotics cops. Directed William Friedkin employs a documentary style in which Gene Hackman wins an Oscar for his role as the no nonsense detective "Popeye" Doyle.  Printed in England by Lonsdale & Bartholomew of Nottingham. The poster features the "X" certificate together with photos of Gene Hackman as Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle together with the New York landscape. The film poster has a good clean look with just three vertical fold lines and some minor creasing as seen.
