Hatari

"Filmed in Tanganyika, Africa in Technicolor." This is the British quad film poster for the Howard Hawks directed 'Hatari'. Superb painted illustrations of Giraffes, elephants and a charging rhino with John Wayne featuring prominently. This poster has an archival repaired eight inch closed tear at the top right together with an area of paper-loss in the top corner which we have infilled with paper to match. It must be noted that there is a charming letter on a small portion of the reverse of the poster from the cinema owner to a friend encouraging "guests to see this programme 'Hatari' - perhaps one of the best films so far. says Milton to Douglas." We have used several areas of conservation tape to the reverse to help this old poster along where it has had mostly closed tears that needed some help.
