| Details | This is a truly stunning 1953 Stone litho printed full colour British quad film poster for "Angel Face". The RKO Radio Pictures logo is proudly displayed at the foot of the poster by the name of the Producer and Director none other than Otto Preminger. Rated as one of the best of the 1950's Film Noir crime films we have stunning artwork of Jean Simmons who has the face of an angel yet this beauty is a mask for psychopathy. Robert Mitchum is pictured as the chauffeur who is also a potential victim. Jean Simmons was under contract to Howard Hughes but this was not always a happy affair as it often involved her having to have her hair cut and wear a wig - she also had to be slapped around a lot by Robert Mitchum and she felt that Otto Preminger was enjoying this. The stunning artwork also includes Robert Mitchum in a dramatic car crash at the lower left. Printed by Stafford & Co. of Netherfield, Nottingham and London in 1953 this is a rare survivor with just a three inch closed tear at the bottom right border edge which we have repaired with archival restoration tape to the reverse. The film poster has amazing colours with just three more small areas at the top border of restoration tape including a larger one at the top right corner as seen. A fantastic film poster. |
