| Details | This 1958 first release British quad film poster for the black and white film "Sea Fury" marks an important era for Rank films who employed the services of Downtons agency run by Eric Pulford who personally made trips to Rome to employ Italian artists to breathe a fresh freedom of expression not being embraced by the more reserved British artists. The Italian artists painted far more quickly and with sweeping brush strokes (and they were cheaper to employ). This particular artist is Angelo Cesselon and with reference material brought from england by Pulford he has produced a beautiful painting of Luciana Paluzzi the gorgeous Italian actress in the role of Josita together with a determined looking Stanley Baker who together with writer / director Cy Endfield pair together following their success in "Helldrivers". Fantastic artwork with the film poster printed with gorgeous colours by Charles & Read of London & Harlow. This poster is in excellent folded condition with just a few pinholes in the borders but with some pink writing to the reverse which has bled through to the right hand of the captain on the ships wheel. |
