| Details | To many observers this 1945 film is a tale of unrequited love but to many more it is in fact a tribute to the spirit of Free France given the absence of cast members during filming who were on missions for the French Resistance as the film was shot under the noses of the Gestapo towards the end of the Second World War. The lead actress Arletty plays the part of continued resistance to all attempts to possess her. The print quality on this cinema poster is exceptional and this was acquired in rolled condition from the designer Charles Randak. The film poster is from the 2011 cinema re-release of this 1945 classic. |
