| Details | It is unlikely that you will find a British Quad for sale on this title as we only know of two that exist. This one is the original film poster image and wholly original as supplied to the Army cinema - the other known one being backed onto paper having been sold at Christies in South Kensington in 1997. In 1953 scientists had identified canals on the planet Mars and the general public were excited about the possibility of life on the planet. This film poster pictures the Martian flying saucers which travelled to Earth. Would they be friendly and greet us? Remember this was four years after the end of the Second World War - so invasion was likely the primary motive in the minds of the public at the time. This is a truly remarkable survivor in the world of film poster collecting and well done to Brian for saving it. |
