Details | This fantastic quad film poster ranks amongst the best artwork by the great Tom Chantrell for the series. To the left we have the seductive Fenella Fielding in the role of Valeria Watt - the peak of her film career as she brings a giggly smouldering sexual "Munsters" style touch of evil. Her brother Kenneth Williams is pictured at top right as Doctor Olando Watt complete with matching syringe. Kenneth delivers some wonderful lines as when he discusses his duty to drive stakes through the heart - "No, I don't feel like driving tonight." and the one about bemoaning his undead lifestyle "Oh this is awful, I wish I was dead!" Fenella: "But Olando, You are dead!" / "What! Oh yes, so I am. What a life!" The undead Kenneth is to meet his end in his own vat of bubbling toxic material wonderfully pictured on the poster. Equally interesting is the title font which hails from the very first release of this film poster and carries a small "a" in the "CaRRY" and the "SCREaMING" this was quite quickly replaced with full capital letters so that it could be more easily read - this makes this quad rarer still. |
