| Details | Chantrell captures in fine detail the opulence of the ballroom together with the scenes from the film involving the carriage crash and the gates of the Chateau. Omar Sharif and Catherine Deneuve are the tragic lovers unable to come to terms with the Crown Prince of Austria denied release from a loveless marriage. The lovers spend 24 wonderful hours together at Mayerling before he shoots her and then himself. The smoking gun can be seen at the foot of the poster and the design is such that it is the last thing we see having read the title. |
