| Details | Hammer Horror directed by Terence Fisher from the novel by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This was the first colour film after the Basil Rathbone series ended in 1946.The film was five star. I feel the poster was a wasted opportunity however and I do not like the depiction of the hound. Perhaps the swirling mists on the moors could have cloaked the dreaded hound from hell and left more to our imagination. Still here it is complete with tag " Its ten times the terror in Technicolor" (apologies for the camera lead top right - poster A condition) At the center of the poster on the top fold there is wear which has resulted in a 1/4" loss of paper. There is a 2" split at the top of the poster along the center line. Otherwise, the poster is in excellent condition and dates from 1959. |
